Abstract
Sydenham's chorea is a movement disorder that develops following childhood streptococcal infection and resolves spontaneously in most cases. This report presents the exacerbation of choreiform movements in a patient in her 70s, who was diagnosed in childhood and remained asymptomatic for 40 years. Recurrence in late adulthood and the subsequent response to treatment are of clinical significance for raising clinical awareness.
