Abstract
In recent years, nonparaneoplastic autoimmune encephalitis has become one of the most studied topics after the identification of antibodies against surface specific antigens. In most patients, medial temporal lobe involvement is dominant, whereas basal ganglia are affected rarely. In this article, we report a 54-year-old female patient presenting with personality changes, dystonia, epileptic seizures, and caudate nucleus involvement on cranial magnetic resonance imaging, with no detected antibodies in cerebrospinal fluid; however, whose clinical findings improved with immunotherapy.
