Abstract

Hiccups are caused by involuntary contractions of the diaphragm and intercostal muscles that recur at irregular intervals and sudden closure of the glottis. In addition to central and peripheral causes, opiates, corticosteroids, antibiotics, and various drugs also cause hiccups. A review of the literature revealed that pramipexole-associated hiccups are very rare. Therefore, we presented the case of a 69-year-old male patient, as it may contribute to the management of Parkinson disease.
