Abstract
In the progression of Parkinson’s disease (PD), non-motor symptoms are important as motor symptoms. Furthermore, in some conditions, non-motor symptoms deteriorate quality of life more than motor symptoms. Akathisia frequently coexists with anxiety, which is a non-motor symptom of PD. Akathisia should be questioned in routine examinations of Parkinson’s patients since its early diagnosis and treatment may improve quality of life. In this article, we aim to present some general information about akathisia and review its relationship with PD.
