Abstract
In this case report, we reported two female patients, aged 57 and 56 years, diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP)-corticobasal syndrome (CBS), a variant of PSP. Progressive gait and balance impairment with early, frequent falls prompted suspicion of PSP. Neurological examination revealed asymmetric extrapyramidal signs, postural instability, vertical gaze palsy, apraxia, an alien limb phenomenon, and cortical sensory loss. Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed marked asymmetric cortical atrophy accompanied by mesencephalic atrophy. The clinical and radiological findings supported PSP-CBS. This case report underscores the importance of detailed neurological assessment and neuroimaging for recognizing this rare PSP variant.
